Friday, June 3: Family Night at the Museum (5 - 7 p.m.)

Held on the first Friday of each month, Family Nights echo the celebration of the National Park Service Centennial reflected in the Museum’s temporary exhibit, "All Set for the WEST: Railroads and National Parks."

In addition to providing extended hours for visitors to access the Museum’s range of interactive displays on railroading and the history of the west, each family night will also feature a unique arts or learning opportunity that is fun for the entire family.

On June 3, from 5-7 p.m., visitors will experience "If You Build It…," discovering the materials used to build the Museum and the National Park lodges. Design your own floor plan and learn what it takes to build a railroad. Representatives from Operation Lifesaver will also be on site to provide information, child-centered activities and fun give-aways that promote community safety around railroads.

In keeping with the "If You Build It…" theme, the Museum is partnering with the Omaha Storm Chasers baseball team. One of the Storm Chaser mascots will be available for photo-ops beginning at 5 p.m.

Admission is free to all family nights. Donations are gladly accepted.

The next Family Night at the Museum will be July 1 and will feature the theme, "Red, White, Blue and You," exploring activities and resources about being a healthy citizen in your community.
