Our entire second floor is open! This includes the Locomotive Engineer Simulator that we know many of our visitors have missed over the summer months. Due to rising flood waters the Union Pacific Railroad Museum moved much of its collection upstairs to the second floor as a preventative measure in case of flooding. Now that the waters are receding we are happy to announce that all exhibits are once again open.
Union Pacific Railroad Museum to Close April 8 – May 11Due to the installation of the Union Pacific Railroad Museum’s newest exhibit “Building America” the museum will be closed April 8 – May 11, with a grand reopening May 12. Working on the Railroad: The Evolution of a Modern RailroadRaleigh Sheffield will be presenting a tour of the Union Pacific Railroad Museum’s modern railroading exhibit, "Working on the Railroad" on Saturday, March 10. Tours will start at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The entire first floor of The Union Pacific Railroad Museum will be transformed in the coming months into the state-of-the-art, million-dollar exhibit "Building America" The exhibit's grand opening will be May 12, 2012.
In order for everyone to celebrate Thanksgiving this year the Museum will be closed Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25. We will be OPEN Saturday, November 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., just in time for "Buy Local Saturday".
Visitors to the Union Pacific Railroad Museum have the chance to take advantage of Union Pacific's upcoming 150th anniversary with guided tours on the second Saturday of each month, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., beginning November 12.
