New Guided Tours Offered at the Union Pacific Railroad MuseumOctober 20, 2011 Visitors to the Union Pacific Railroad Museum have the chance to take advantage of Union Pacific's upcoming 150th anniversary with guided tours featuring exhibits and photographs on the second Saturday of each month, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., beginning November 12.
"We want to offer visitors a more convenient guided tour while still getting the chance to experience the museum during a regular visit," said Patricia LaBounty, the museum's outreach and collection manager.
The first guided tour on November 12 will review the need of a transcontinental railroad, its construction and life on the frontier afterwards. Visitors will have a chance to examine photographs from the Union Pacific collection that are not currently on display.
As always we are happy to schedule private tours for groups of 10 or more. Please visit Tours and Programs for more information, or contact the museum, allowing at least two weeks for scheduling.
