Union Pacific Railroad Museum Brings Guest Speaker Anna Lee Frohlich to Council Bluffs

Anna Lee Frohlich will present "The Lonely Pyramid on Sherman Hill" at the Council Bluffs Public Library, June 8. The presentation will be at 11 a.m., followed by a question and answer session at the Union Pacific Railroad Museum from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Frohlich, a great-great-great-granddaughter of Oakes Ames, won an award at the Western History Association Conference in 2011for her presentation through Westerners International.  Her focus is on the Ames brothers, their connection to Union Pacific and the building of the transcontinental railroad, and the monument erected at Sherman Hill in their honor. This presentation combines authentic dress and images of the interior of the Ames monument as it stands today.
