October 13, 2011

The Union Pacific Railroad Museum welcomed its 200,000th visitor on Wednesday October 12, 2001. Since opening in 2003, guests from all 50 states and all over the world - representing more than 70 countries - have visited the museum.

J. P. Jeffrey, a resident of Omaha who had never visited the Union Pacific Railroad Museum, decided to bring his son and daughter-in-law to the museum while they were visiting from Wyoming.  Little did he suspect that he was to be the museums 200,000 visitor.

Rail fans, history buffs, museum enthusiasts and students of all ages enjoy the museum, where visitors can get a unique look at 150 years of railroad history through the eyes of the Union Pacific.

In celebration of this event, J. P. received a model Union Pacific #65 Gas Turbine locomotive, a Union Pacific Railroad Museum conductor membership for one year, and a gift basket containing a variety of gifts.
