Join the Friends of the Museum

Admission to the Museum is free, so thankfully a Membership is not required for all to enjoy this world class museum. So why do we need your support?

We need you because ...

  • The story of the transcontinental railroad, those who built it and those who maintain it today, is recorded and shared at the Union Pacific Railroad Museum. It is important - not only in this, Union Pacific's monumental 150th anniversary year, but forever - to make sure we never lose track of the hard work and history behind the railroad's many accomplishments.

  • The Union Pacific Railroad Museum features one of the oldest corporate collections in the nation, an extensive compilation of artifacts, photographs, documents and equipment from our nation's most ambitious endeavor. It is through your support that these artifacts are maintained.

  • Your support provides funding for our Outreach and Education program which reaches more than 3,000 students a year and created a Teacher Institute to bring local history into the classroom and encourage educators to use the resources available locally to make history come alive for students.
  • Your Patron dollars are used to create and maintain exhibits, such as the installation of the world class exhibit "America Travels by Rail."  Patron dollars were the key to the completion of this half million dollar project.
